NASA JPL Lobby
Client — NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Agency — SET Creative
Role — Environment Design
Background
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is a federally funded research and development center in Pasadena, California. With only minor renovations since its construction in the 1960’s, the lobby and viewing area of Mission Control was in need of a refresh.
Project
To reflect their future-forward work, the lobby was designed with timeless materials and streamlined, simplified sight lines. Keeping the LED ceiling installation in mind, we added vertical paneling to elongate the room along with digital screens to bring motion into the space. On the opposite side, wide-format lightboxes span across the wall to bring continuity from one end to the other.
Last Thoughts
It’s NASA and we went to JPL “for work.” Coolest project ever.
